Pumpkin

It's pumpkin patching time of year and Mr. Radish agreed to check out the local pumpkin patch, just a few minutes away from home in Redmond.

South 47 Farm has hay rides, a corn maze and a pumpkin patch, too. Along the way, we meet some chickens, llamas and mini goats.

We were pleased to learn that one of our favorite Kirkland restaurants, Trellis at the Heathman sources from this farm in Redmond. As noted on South 47 farm website:

Executive Chef Brian Scheehser of Trellis Restaurant at the Heathman Hotel in Kirkland grows much of the food he serves right here at The South 47 Farm. Chef Brian rents a three-acre plot at the north end of the farm where he raises tomatoes, winter squash, beets, lettuce, cabbage, broccoli, leeks, and more. He also buys and serves produce from our farm stand.Executive Chef Brian Scheehser of Trellis Restaurant at the Heathman Hotel in Kirkland grows much of the food he serves right here at The South 47 Farm. 1. Fantastic Halloween/autumn post. Nothing can beat getting a pumpkin straight from the farm. And yay to Trellis! I'm sure they're making yummy things for fall. :D
